One of the few things that have given me hope and a serious will to exist during the last couple months has been the prospect of Catalonia becoming independent. Many will argue that the dictatorship has never left Madrid and it is a very good one, but to be alive in seeing Catalonia finally seceding and permanently declaring its independence after a history with terror and oppression from Spain would be special and a victory for the people. Not only in Spain, but for those fighting fascism and for their own autonomy in many parts of the world (Rojava).
